Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko has called for justice over the killing and injuring of unarmed protesters by police during the anti-government protests.
Ochilo who on Wednesday led the county staff for an evening memorial vigil for the protest victims said those killed by police and those injured must be served justice by the government.
Ochilo accused police of injuring and killing innocent people who were out to express their anger because of the high cost of living in the country.
The governor said it was unfortunate that the police killed people who were taking part in a demonstration provided for in the Kenyan constitution.
The Migori governor, who was flanked by other senior county and junior officers said the police must not use excessive force to control the protesters who are doing a peaceful demonstration.
During the three-day anti-government protests last week, one person was killed and 13 injured by the police in Migori County.
